I worked at Fortune School of Education part-time for more than 4 years

It has great working environment and working culture

But they provide fewer professional development

Getting to know the students and making an impact on their lives.

Working at Fortune High was stressful. As a staff member, I received no support whatsoever. Management was barely available. The principal had no time at all for any concerns and issues that a staff member, teacher, or instructional aide had. Was treated rudely, disrespected by the assistant principal when trying to present an issue regarding a student. Assistant principal displayed a very rude and unprofessional manner….

Be more active and involved in making sure ALL of your staff members feel appreciated, supported, and valued. Never take the good workers for granted!

1. Long hours, lots of pressure, lots of work 2. Clique-ish, vibes vary site to site 3. Lack of appreciation for staff members ( not even a certificate of appreciation, teacher of the year) 4. Upper management fails to hear the requests or complaints of staff members 5. Harassment, over-bearing, micro-managing 6. No individuality for students or teachers 7. Let go of people who really care because its not convenient…

Show more appreciation to those who care and are willing to do the work. Stop blaming the teachers for everything. Get more support for the teachers ( not to be confused with harassment and unnecessary trainings, pd, and meetings), help your staff feel good about where they work instead of hating life while theyre there. Happy teachers produce happy children that produce scores. Dont be rude and belittling.

Reward those who work hard and acknowledge their commitment. Keep your personal feelings outside of work. Respect co workers and lead by example.

Working along side with children. The whole fortune tradition. Founder and CEO are one of the nicest people I have ever met. I approve of them 100%. Principals are a great role model to the students and employees.

Having to deal with disrespectful supervisors and management. If you have complaints it will not be resolved. Employees are constantly getting bashed, and disrespected by them, but home office doesnt do anything about it. They will talk negatively behind your back and spread rumors to others. Which is highly unprofessional. And its not just me, teachers end up leaving every year due to the working conditions. The…

Respect your employees. Give them guidance instead of acting smart and disrespectful to them. Be a leader, not a boss. Help them grow, dont bring them down. Talk to your employees if they have any concerns, or need help.
